Problems building a custom web services connector

Hello,

I'm trying to build a very basic web services management agent / connector to export employees to an internal application that exposes its employees through a web service. It is a simple scenario but it is not exporting as expected. It is not even showing anything in the connector space.

So far I have used the Web Service Connector Config tool to discover the service and I added an Employee object type. I configured the Export/Add operation workflow only.

I added the new Web Services MA through the Synchronization Service Manager and I set up joining. I ran an export run profile but to my surprise, no adds were made to the data source.

What am I missing? How do I get it to actually export?

I have enabled logging level 3 and here is what I get:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?>
<mmsml xmlns="http://www.microsoft.com/mms/mmsml/v2" step-type="export">
  <directory-entries>
  </directory-entries>
</mmsml>

Also, how does FIM check what employees exist in the connected data source? How can I make it understand that it should use the GetEmployees endpoint operation?

Finally, is there any docuemention about how to build the web service itself? What endpoints, operations, etc. does FIM expect?

Thanks in advance.

Ali
